A large tree that’s too close to your house can lead to costly property damage or injury if it falls or drops heavy limbs during a storm. To protect your home and your safety, it's important to recognize the warning signs that a big tree may be a threat. Leaning Toward the House A tree that is leaning significantly, especially if the lean is recent or increasing, should be taken seriously. Even a gradual tilt could indicate root instability or internal decay, both of which could lead to a sudden collapse.
